About the Project
Institutional investment firms process thousands of new financial instruments every year before they can be traded. Traditionally, much of the required information is extracted manually from large legal documents and entered into multiple enterprise systems. This slows down onboarding, creates operational risk, and makes it difficult for portfolio managers, operations teams, and compliance departments to work from a single, consistent view of upcoming investments.
This project addresses that challenge by building an AI-assisted document processing and integration platform. Legal documentation is automatically analyzed using Large Language Models (LLMs), key business attributes are extracted, and the resulting data is distributed to multiple downstream enterprise systems responsible for security setup, reference data, and operational workflows.
As a Senior Python Engineer, you will help build the backend services that orchestrate this process—connecting AI-powered document extraction with enterprise systems while ensuring reliability, transparency, and scalability.

What you will do
What You'll Do
- Design and develop backend services in Python using FastAPI.
- Build integrations with multiple enterprise platforms through synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
- Develop event-driven workflows using message streaming technologies.
- Integrate AI-generated document metadata into downstream business systems.
- Implement monitoring, status tracking, and processing workflows for long-running operations.
- Participate in designing reliable processing pipelines for document updates, retries, and exception handling.
- Collaborate with product owners, business users, and distributed engineering teams across Europe and North America.
- Contribute to improving the existing platform rather than building a greenfield system.
Required
- Around 5+ years of professional Python backend development.
- Strong experience building REST APIs and backend services.
- Experience integrating multiple distributed systems.
- Good understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production environments independently.
- Comfortable working in a large enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and ownership mindset.
Nice to have
- Experience with document-processing pipelines or AI/LLM integrations.
- Experience with cloud messaging platforms.
- Financial services experience.
- Familiarity with fixed income instruments or securities reference data.
